El conteo regresivo para la llegada del 2014 ha comenzado. Y que mejor forma de terminar el año que con un resumen de las tendencias del 2013 que más nos gustaron.

Our Favorite Trends from 2013

The countdown for 2014 has begun. And what better way to end the year than with a recap of our favorite trends from 2013.

Peplum

La palabra péplum se refiere a pliegues ondulados adjuntados a la línea de la cintura. Nos encanta el aire femenino y chic de esta tendencia que se ha apoderado de faldas, vestidos y poleras. / The word peplum refers to a short ruffle attached at the waistline of a blouse, or dress. We love the femininity and chicness of this trend that has taken over skirts, dresses and tops.

Crop Top

Se trata de camisetas con la parte de abajo cortada.  Si bien esta tendencia nos tomo por sorpresa y al principio nos costo mucho agarrarle cariño terminamos amándola. En especial por su infinita posibilidad de combinaciones con otras prendas. El cielo es el limite cuando se trata de los crop top. / Tops with the bottom cut off. While this trend took us by surprise and at first we couldn’t get used to it, we ended up falling in love with it. Specially its infinite combination possibilities. The sky is the limit when it comes to the crop top.

Estampados Futuristas/Futurist Prints 

Fue una dura competencia entre los estampados futuristas y los florales pero elegimos los estampados futuristas porque es una tendencia renovó los atuendos de todos. SI bien nos encantan los estampados florarles estos estaban arrasando con absolutamente todo y llegaron al punto de cansarnos un poco. / It was a tough choice between the futurist and floral prints, but we chose the futuristic prints because it’s a new and fresh trend. While we love flower prints we have seen them on absolutely everything and we started to get a little bit tired of them.

Poleras/T-Shirts

Las poleras renacieron este año y fueron llevadas a su máxima expresión. Esta prenda que fue olvidada por mucho tiempo volvió y se apodero de nuestros roperos. Si bien te gustan las de bandas o las que tienen mensajes en letras grandes y vistosas esta prenda es un must que creemos que seguirá arrasando este 2014. / The t-shirt has been reborn this year. This garment was long forgotten but came back and took over our wardrobes. Whether you like the band t-shirts or the statement t-shirts this piece is a must have. 

Atuendos Monocromáticos/Monochromatic Outfits

Después de ver tanto color blocking los atuendos monocromáticos fueron un cambio refrescante. No se dejen engañar puesto que estos atuendos no son nada aburridos, en realidad son bastante llamativos! Es un estilo clásico y atemporal que siempre encontrará su forma de volver. / After seeing so much color blocking outfits monochromatic was a refreshing change. Don’t be fooled because these outfits are everything but boring! It’s a classic and timeless style that always find its way back into our wardrobes.

Corte High–Low/The High-Low Cut

Las faldas y vestidos tiene ahora un nuevo look. Este corte renovó por completo a estas prendas de ropa y son un must en el guardarropa. Un look perfecto para el día y la noche./ Skirts and dresses have a new look. This cut completely renovated these garments and made them a must in our wardrobe. A perfect look for the day and night.

Collares Statement/Statement Necklace

Tal como lo dice su nombre haz una declaración de moda con estos collares. Mientras mas grandes y llamativos mejor. Los hay de todas formas y colores así que elige el que mas te guste./ As the name implies make a fashion statement with these necklaces. The bigger, the better. They come in all sorts of different shapes and colors so choose the one you like the most.

Zapatos Metálicos/Metallic Shoes

Siempre es bueno tener uno o dos pares de zapatos en colores neutros. De esos que se gastan al tiro porque son los que mas usas. Pero los colores metálicos son una excelente forma de tener un color neutro fuera de lo común./ It’s always good to have one or two pairs of shoes in neutral colors. You know the ones that end up worn out because they’re the one’s you use the most. Metallic colors are a great way to have a different and out of the ordinary kind of neutral.

Botines con Hebillas/Buckle Ankle Boots

Los botines se lucieron este año pero ninguno más que el botín con hebillas. Deja que tus pies hablen por ti con esta prenda llamativa./Ankle boots stole the spotlight these year but none more tan the buckle ankle boots. Let your feet do the talking with this great statement piece.

Lanzamiento de ZEF

Reutilizamos, Reacondicionamos, Creamos

Como algunos de ustedes saben este pasado jueves 12 de diciembre Pilchas & Pintas asistió al lanzamiento de ZEF que se realizó en el Espacio Creativo IMA. El evento contó con delicioso sushi, riquísimos tragos, un mapping increíble y la presencia de DJs como Lecter, Marco Cuba, Del Pozo y Metzanima. Sin embargo las estrellas de la noche fueron nada más y nada menos que las prendas diseñadas por Carola Valdivia y Valeria Wilde, el equipo de ZEF.

En un mundo donde la moda le cuesta caro no solo a tu billetera, sino que también al planeta, ver propuestas como esta son una bocanada de aire fresco. ZEF no sólo se trata de prendas de segunda mano. Se trata de un concepto nuevo de moda, diseño y consumo responsable.

“La conciencia esta despertando. Nuestro planeta necesita de iniciativas que permitan reutilizar los materiales existentes, para satisfacer necesidades básicas, llevando los hábitos de consumo a un nivel mas responsable”

Al pasear por la habitación donde se había armado la exposición de las chicas, era inevitable parar y dedicarle tiempo de admiración a cada prenda. Cada una de ellas llamaba la atención a su manera y traía consigo una carga propia de diseño e innovación.

Así que en resumen tenemos diseños únicos a precios totalmente accesibles y sin cargo de conciencia. Y si pensaron que la propuesta de ZEF era imposible de mejorar se equivocan! Puesto que a parte de dar su granito de arena con moda responsable las chicas también donan ropa a personas menos favorecidas. Así es! Por cada prenda ZEF que se vende Vale y Caro se encargan de destinar otra prenda a personas en condiciones desfavorables.

Queremos felicitar a las chicas de ZEF y desearles mucho éxito en este nuevo emprendimiento!

Para los que no pudieron ir al lanzamiento no se preocupen! La exposición estará en el Espacio Creativo IMA hasta este 23 de Diciembre. Es más las chicas estarán aceptando donaciones para la próxima colección durante todo el periodo de exposición! Si bien van y se compran algo o van a dejar una donación estarán dejando también su granito de arena para hacer del mundo un lugar mejor.

 Reuse, Recondition, Create

As some of you know this past Thursday, December 12th Pilchas & Pintas ​attended ZEF’s inauguration which was held at Espacio Creativo IMA here in La Paz. The event counted with delicious sushi, tasty drinks, an amazing mapping and the presence of DJs such as Lecter , Marco Cuba , Del Pozo and Metzanima . The stars of the night however were nothing more and nothing less than the clothes designed by Carola Valdivia and Valeria Wilde, the members of team ZEF.

In a world where people and the planet we live in are paying a high prize for fashion seeing proposals like these are a breath of fresh air. ZEF is not only made up of second hand clothes. ZEF is a new concept of fashion, design and responsible consumption.

“Consciousness is awakening.  Our planet needs initiatives that allow us to reuse existing materials, to meet our basic needs and lead our consumption habits to a more responsible level”

Walking through the room where the girls had prepared their exposition, it was inevitable to stop and spend time admiring each garment. Each one of them drew attention on their own special way and and carried a very unique design and innovation within. So let’s sum it up, we have a totally unique designs at affordable prices and clear conscience shopping. If you thought ZEF’s proposal was impossible to improve you guys wrong! Not only do the girls contribute with their little grain of sand when creating their beautiful designs, but they also give clothes to the needed people. You heard me! For every ZEF garment sold, Vale and Caro give out another piece clothing to people in unfavorable conditions.

We want to congratulate the girls from ZEF and we wish them a lot of success in this new endeavor!

For those who couldn’t attend the inaguration don’t worry! You can visit the exhibition at the Espacio Creativo IMA until December 23. The girls will also be accepting donations for their next collection throughout the whole exposition period! Whether you go and buy something or leave a donation you’ll be your grain of sand to make the world a better place.
